Registered heifers are developed on grass pastures and on rations containing a minimal amount of corn.  They gain 1.5 pounds per day from weaning until breeding as yearlings.  They receive ultrasound scans to assess carcass merit as well as internal evaluations of reproductive tracts and pelvic areas to determine sexual maturity and dystocia probability, removing unacceptable animals.
